Provision of Cloud-based Integrated Human Resources Management Platform to ITOCHU

ITOCHU Techno-Solutions Corporation (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Ichiro Tsuge, President and CEO; hereinafter “CTC”) and SAP Japan Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Hirofumi Suzuki, President and Representative Director; hereinafter “SAP Japan”) provided a cloud-based integrated human resources management platform to ITOCHU Corporation (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Keita Ishii, President & COO; hereinafter "ITOCHU"). The platform allows collecting and centrally managing various human resource data formerly dispersed across subsystems, enabling flexible and scalable aggregation and analysis going forward.

ITOCHU was considering building a human resources management platform to realize the centralized management of human resources information with the aim of maximizing the capabilities of each individual employee for enhancing its human capital.

The platform is based on the following SAP solution and platform: SAP® SuccessFactors®, a cloud-based human resources management solution and SAP® Business Technology Platform, a cloud-based application development solution, and is a highly scalable human resources management platform by being integrated with external SaaS services. Building the system, which was previously on-premise, on the cloud, has led to reduction of the burden to operate its own infrastructure and equipment as well.

In addition, the following tasks requiring additional functions can be achieved since the functionality was extended on the SAP® Business Technology Platform, which enables development that takes full advantage of the standard functionality of SAP products, and the platform was integrated with external SaaS services: issuance of notices for personnel changes and organization changes, which involves complex data patterns, year-end adjustments with high operational burdens, and transportation expense management in accordance with fare changes.

Going forward, CTC and SAP Japan will further strengthen our partnership to expand the functionality of ITOCHU's cloud-based integrated human resources management platform so that we can contribute to the company’s promotion of human capital management.
