ITOCHU Techno-Solutions Corporation (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Tatsushi Shingu, President and CEO; hereinafter “CTC”) will launch “Cybersecurity Strategy Roadmap Development Support Service”, our proprietary service to comprehensively support companies in strengthening their cybersecurity measures. Based on the internationally recognized guidelines for cybersecurity defense measures*1, this service examines and assesses the current state of customers' security measures and supports the formulation of effective countermeasure plans that take into account the impact on their business operations. We will offer the service to a wide range of industries and aim to achieve sales of 2 billion yen over the next three years.
In recent years, corporate IT systems have integrated a wide variety of applications and services, and their operations have become increasingly complex. In order to counter increasingly sophisticated cyberattacks, it is important to accurately assess the effectiveness of security measures for their systems and identify issues, which requires professionals with advanced expertise and skills.
The new service supports building an effective roadmap for implementing cyberattack countermeasures. We examine and assess customers’ current security posture in detail and identify priority issues based on their business impact.
The service consists of the following three steps, which are completed in three months.
- STEP 1
- Examine the current situation through a questionnaire-style checklist and interviews
- STEP 2
- Assess security posture and identify issues using international guidelines for cyberattacks and CTC's extensive expertise
- STEP 3
- Prioritize issues, create a list of the issues with recommended measures, and provide a roadmap for the next three years for consideration and implementation of the countermeasures
Following provision of this service, a comprehensive support service is also available. The service proposes optimal solutions, including selection of necessary products and services for security measures based on the assessment results, and covers from implementation to operation of security measures.
CTC has been providing the “Security Assessment Service,” our service for incident responses based on the “NIST SP 800-61*2 ”, comprehensive guidelines designed to assist organizations in developing effective incident response capabilities published by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in the United States*2. The newly launched service has been developed to focus on formulating more efficient and practical countermeasure plans.
Going forward, CTC will continue expanding our security service offerings, leveraging our extensive product portfolio and expertise to help enterprise customers strengthen cybersecurity and ensure stable system operations.
CTC’s Security Service Offerings including “Cybersecurity Strategy Roadmap Development Support Service”
- *1 CIS Controls v8.1: Guidelines developed by CIS (the Center for Internet Security, Inc.), a US non-profit organization established to enhance cybersecurity. The guidelines are created with a focus on cyberattack countermeasures and provide specific practices that mitigate the most common attacks against systems and networks based on joint researches by US government agencies such as the US National Security Agency (NSA) and information security companies. They are widely used internationally alongside the NIST Cyber Security Framework and ISMS (ISO/IEC 27001, 27002).
- *2 NIST SP 800-61: Guidelines designed to assist organizations in developing effective incident response capabilities. The guidelines segment the incident response process into four crucial phases: Preparation; Detection and Analysis; Containment, Eradication, and Recovery; and Post-Incident Activity, to help organizations quickly and effectively respond to security incidents.
