Nov 27, 2025 ITOCHU Techno-Solutions Corporation
ITOCHU Techno-Solutions Corporation (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Tatsushi Shingu, President and CEO; hereinafter CTC) will establish the Cyber Security Research Center, an organization dedicated to researching and analyzing the latest cyberattack threat trends and security countermeasure technologies. By swiftly gathering and analyzing the latest security trends in Japan and abroad, and widely sharing the findings through reports and seminars, the center aims to help raise security levels of companies and organizations. Furthermore, CTC will leverage the insights gained to enhance our security services and capability to propose security solutions, thereby delivering highly effective security measures for multi-vendor environments.
In recent years, cyberattacks have continued to grow increasingly sophisticated and complex, posing a major risk to business continuity for companies and organizations. Security measure providers are required to grasp attackers' movements, the latest defensive measures, and changes in relevant regulations more swiftly, and to deliver targeted countermeasures.
The Cyber Security Research Center consolidates knowledge and insights to address ever-evolving cyber threats and shares research and analysis findings with the society. Its activities include:
1) Research, analysis, and sharing of trends in attackers’ methods and vulnerabilities
2) Provision of expert insights on developments in cyber regulations and industry-specific legal frameworks
3) Provision of reports on research, analysis, and use cases of the latest security products and technology trends
In addition to sharing the research and analysis findings, CTC leverages the implementation expertise gained through years of system development and operation in multi-vendor environments to enhance our offerings by combining the most suitable security products and countermeasure services for each customer’s environment. We will incorporate insights gained from researches into our existing security services, aiming to improve service quality by advancing threat detection and incident response capabilities. Going forward, CTC also envisions reporting vulnerability information to domestic public institutions, with the goal of contributing to raising the security level of the entire society.
We have received the following comment for this press release.
As cyberattacks grow increasingly sophisticated, cybersecurity regulations are rapidly evolving worldwide. The EU’s NIS2 Directive, U.S. cybersecurity regulations, and revisions to industry-specific guidelines in Japan are examples of requirements that companies must comply with, which are becoming more advanced and complex by the day. Failing to keep pace with these changes exposes them to risks of more than mere compliance violations; it directly leads to significant business risks. Against this backdrop, CTC’s establishment of the Cyber Security Research Center, which not only analyzes threats but also conducts cross-industry and global research on regulatory and industry trends to share its findings, is highly meaningful. We expect the center will provide practical insights enabling Japanese companies to achieve sustainable business operations for maintaining their global competitiveness by balancing security and legal compliance.
