CTC Commences to provide Mirantis' OpenStack

Consolidates OpenStack Solutions and Encourages Customers' Cloud Usage

ITOCHU Techno-Solutions Corporation (headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Satoshi Kikuchi, President & CEO; hereinafter “CTC”) has signed a reseller agreement with Mirantis, Inc. (headquartered in Mountain View, California, United States; hereinafter “Mirantis”), which promotes the commercial use of the open-source cloud infrastructure software OpenStack, and today commences to provide the Mirantis' OpenStack distribution “Mirantis OpenStack” as well as consulting and training services, for the first time in Japan. CTC will provide these products and services with a central focus on cloud service providers and telecommunications carriers, and aims to achieve sales of 3 billion yen over the next three years including related products.

Background of selling Mirantis OpenStack

With the progressive use of cloud services in enterprise environment, usage of the cloud infrastructure software OpenStack, which efficiently manages the virtual servers, storage, networks and other IT resources of public and private cloud environment, is becoming widespread. Because OpenStack is open source software (OSS), there were common issues in terms of deployment support to meet the particular needs of each individual system environments, continuous maintenance, and user training when using it in companies.

Mirantis Services Offered by CTC

CTC has signed an agreement with Mirantis, which provides one-stop services relating to OpenStack, from consulting to deployment support, commercial distributions, maintenance and training services, and will gradually commence sales of Mirantis OpenStack and provision of services, including consulting and training. This will enable user companies to utilize OpenStack, under a stable support framework, to build flexible, extensible, fault-tolerant cloud environments. CTC has already been working towards the validation of cloud environments using OpenStack and the development of applications running on the OpenStack, and this time will aim to consolidate its OpenStack solutions by improving and expanding its support services through the partnership with Mirantis, which has both technological capabilities and a long track record of OpenStack deployments.

OpenStack related Products and Services Offered by CTC

  1. “Mirantis OpenStack” Commercial Distribution
    CTC will resell the “Mirantis OpenStack” commercial distribution offered by Mirantis.
  2. Consulting and Professional Services
    CTC will offer design, development, deployment and operation services according to the requirements of customers who are considering deploying OpenStack.
  3. Training Services
    CTC will offer training services, from basic training of OpenStack, to hands-on training geared towards in house deployment and operation of OpenStack environments.
CTC will work to achieve the realization of flexible cloud environments for its customers, while continuing to train and develop its own OpenStack engineers, through offering Mirantis OpenStack and these services. CTC will also continue its efforts to promote the approach, validation, research and development of cloud infrastructure software, including OpenStack, and continue its contribution on enabling the most stabilized and reliable cloud environment for customers.
