United Nations Global Compact

In , ITOCHU Techno-Solutions Corporation (CTC) participated in the UN Global Compact; a global initiative to achieve sustainable growth in international society.

The Global Compact raises ten principles in the areas of human rights, labor, the environment and anti-corruption. In accordance with these principles, CTC is developing a framework that will enable each and every employee to act in a highly ethical and responsible manner at all times, from a global perspective, based on the CTC Group's Code of Conduct; and to fulfill their social responsibilities in the course of their everyday work duties.

The Ten Basic Principles of the UN Global Compact

Human Rights
Principle 1. Support and respect for the protection of human rights Businesses should support and respect the protection of internationally proclaimed human rights; and
Principle 2. Non-complicity in human rights abuses make sure that they are not complicit in human rights abuses.
Labour
Principle 3. Effective recognition of the freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining Businesses should uphold the freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining;
Principle 4. Elimination of forced and compulsory labor the elimination of all forms of forced and compulsory labor;
Principle 5. Effective abolition of child labor the effective abolition of child labor; and
Principle 6. Elimination of discrimination in employment and occupation the elimination of discrimination in respect of employment and occupation.
Environment
Principle 7. Precautionary approach to environmental problems Businesses should support a precautionary approach to environmental challenges;
Principle 8. Initiatives to promote environmental responsibility undertake initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility; and
Principle 9. Development and diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies encourage the development and diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies.
Anti-Corruption
Principle 10. Working against corruption, including extortion and bribery, etc. Businesses should work against corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery.

About the UN Global Compact

The United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) is a voluntary initiative that encourages companies and other organizations to act as good members of society by exercising responsible and creative leadership, and participate in the creation of a global framework for achieving sustainable growth.
Companies and organizations that sign the UNGC engage in continual efforts to achieve the effective realization of the UNGC's ten basic principles-relating to the protection of human rights, elimination of unfair labor practices, environmental response and anti-corruption-based on commitments by CEOs and other top-level leadership who advocate those principles.
