Launch of Darktrace, Network Threat Detection Solution

ITOCHU Techno-Solutions Corporation (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Tatsushi Shingu, President and CEO; hereinafter CTC) has signed a reseller agreement with Darktrace Holdings Limited (headquartered in Cambridgeshire, UK; Jill Popelka, CEO) to start offering the Darktrace ActiveAI Security Platform™ (hereinafter Darktrace^*1) with solutions including network threat detection. The platform is a solution that utilizes self-learning AI to detect threats in real time across devices within corporate networks, cloud environments, endpoints, and emails, and autonomously respond to those threats. We will offer the solution mainly to the manufacturing, logistics, and transportation industries that operate large-scale networks, and aim to achieve sales of 2 billion yen over the next 3 years.

In recent years, cyberattacks have grown increasingly advanced and cunning, often infiltrating networks by masquerading themselves as legitimate communications. In particular, it is getting harder to respond to unpredictable communications with measures designed to anticipate and prepare for attacks. On top of that, corporate networks are becoming more complicated with connections to IoT devices and cloud services, requiring broader security protection and placing greater burdens on users.

Darktrace monitors communications across the entire IT infrastructure of an organization in real time. Utilizing proprietary machine learning (AI), it continuously learns normal behavior patterns, enabling it to automatically detect abnormal communications and autonomously block them. Since there is no need to predefine known attack patterns, it reduces the burden on users and also allows for effective responses to unknown threats that conventional measures may overlook. Additionally, it can detect malicious activities in cloud environments and from within the organization, providing visibility into the entire networks that are becoming increasingly complex. Furthermore, it can be easily deployed and operated without requiring changes to existing network configurations.

Leveraging our extensive expertise in cybersecurity gained over many years, CTC engages in development of related systems tailored to specific customer needs. In collaboration with our partner, Darktrace Holdings Limited, CTC is responsible for providing technical support for deployment and operation of the product, helping to reduce the burden during deployment and ensure smooth operation.
