A corporate private cloud service in an IaaS model

Jan 30, 2014 ITOCHU Techno-Solutions Corporation

ITOCHU Techno-Solutions Corporation (headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Satoshi Kikuchi, President & CEO; hereinafter "CTC") will today begin offering the TechnoCUVIC Vitual Platform (hereinafter "TechnoCUVIC VP") as a new option of the TechnoCUVIC infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) cloud service. TechnoCUVIC VP is an IaaS platform service that allows users to freely increase or decrease virtual servers. CTC will promote it mainly to those companies which are planning to introduce large-scale private clouds or to integrate servers in an attempt to achieve sales of 11 billion yen for FY 2014 from service-type cloud solutions including TechnoCUVIC VP.
CTC has been offering the TechnoCUVIC IaaS cloud service since 2008. In this service, virtual servers are available for monthly fees.
In response to recent growth in customer needs for introducing private clouds for integrating their intra-company systems without owning assets, CTC has added the TechnoCUVIC VP private platform option for virtualization and integration. On this cloud service, users can freely design and construct virtual servers as a new option of TechnoCUVIC.
That allows customers to construct their private clouds without owning any assets and without performing device setting design and construction. TechnoCUVIC VP has the following features.

Features of TechnoCUVIC Virtual Platform

  1. Low-cost private clouds: Sixteen-core server resources with 192 GB memories are available at monthly fees from 194,000 yen.
  2. A private virtualization environment with simplicity and freedom: Users can freely design and construct virtual servers in their private VMware environments.
  3. A short delivery time: The private cloud becomes available in five business days at the shortest.
  4. Effective use of expertise in construction and operation of virtualization environments: Monitoring of the virtualization environment (vSphere HA), isolation of failure and recovery are offered in the service.

In addition to collaboration between data centers effective to business continuity planning (BCP) and disaster recovery (DR), CTC will add a feature that links customers' on-premises environments with TechnoCUVIC VP in an effort to enrich its cloud services.
