CTC Begins Offering IT Services in Europe

Through a Business Alliance with Newton IT in Britain to Support IT at Japanese Companies Undertaking Businesses in Europe

ITOCHU Techno-Solutions Corporation (Satoshi Kikuchi, President & CEO; headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; hereinafter “CTC”) today commenced joint sales activities focused on Japanese companies with Newton Information Technology Ltd. (Kenshiro Morimoto, Managing Director; headquartered in Wembley, Britain; hereinafter “Newton IT”), an information technology (IT) services provider in Europe, based on an alliance for the IT services business in Europe CTC has formed with Newton IT.

Newton IT is an IT company in Britain that has provided system integration (SI) services in that country for more than 20 years. At present, Newton IT is providing one-stop services covering consulting, system integration, system operation and system maintenance, in fields such as information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and applications development, in 14 countries around the world focused on those in Europe.

CTC has supported IT at Japanese corporate clients expanding their operations into overseas markets since 2012, when it launched global operations on a full scale in countries belonging to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and North America. CTC positions the expansion of global operations as one of the key policies in its Medium-Term Management Plan dubbed “Opening New Horizons,” which covers a period of three years from the ongoing fiscal year. The target for global businesses set in the Plan is 60 billion yen. CTC is globalizing its operations further in a bid to develop new solutions and uncover advanced technologies in Europe, keeping the establishment of R&D bases in mind.

CTC and Newton IT will advance their collaboration in regions focused on Europe, and going forward will study the joint provision of solutions in diverse fields, including security, robotic process automation (RPA) and other cutting-edge applications, as well as IT infrastructure. CTC will be able to provide customer support on a global scale, bolstering sales and marketing activities in response to diversifying customer demands and working in concert with CTC Group companies and business partners in the ASEAN region and North America.
