Oct 15, 2024 ITOCHU Techno-Solutions Corporation
ITOCHU Techno-Solutions Corporation (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Tatsushi Shingu, President and CEO; hereinafter "CTC") will today start offering the “GX Advisory Service Starter Pack” to support GX (Green Transformation) focusing on visualizing and reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from companies. This is a service that diagnoses enterprise GX efforts in as short as two months, for customers who are considering streamlining their GX initiatives or piloting the service adoption. The price starts at 5 million yen (excluding tax). We aim to provide the service to 30 companies over the next three years, focusing on companies that are actively practicing ESG-centered management.
In recent years, as disclosure requirements for GHG emissions and climate-related risks and opportunities have increased, more and more companies are actively engaging in activities to transform the socio-economic system toward carbon neutrality (GX), seeing the initiative as an opportunity for their own growth. However, the promotion of GX requires specialist expertise and skills, and securing human resources and adopting efficient systems have also become major challenges for them.
The GX Advisory Service Starter Pack is a service that uses the expertise accumulated by CTC to identify and diagnostically assess issues to promote GX through interviews and data collection, and provides hands-on support for creating an action plan to streamline and adopt IT systems for sustainability responsibilities including GX. We have standardized our GX Advisory Services, which were previously designed to meet the needs of individual customers on a made-to-order basis, and have prepared simplified menu options that only include identification of the current situation, interview and diagnosis.
The service will be provided both to the Sustainability Management Division and DX Promotion/Environmental Strategy Division. For the Sustainability Management Division, we provide support to organize their workflows of data collection and information disclosure and identify issues of the workflows, and then select tools and evaluate functions of such tools for efficient information disclosure procedures. For the DX Promotion/Environmental Strategy Division, we assess the environmental impact of each product and examine the amount of electricity consumed at production facilities to diagnose how data on production and transportation activities used for GHG emissions calculations is collected, and then propose IT systems for automating data acquisition and utilizing data.
In most cases, it takes more than six months to understand the current situation and draw up an action plan. However, we have created the simple menu options for each of the above divisions based on our know-hows and requests we have received through our GX Advisory Service to date. This enables us to provide diagnostic assessment of a customer’s efforts and procedures in as short as two months.
CTC has been providing consulting and system development services to renewable energy power generators for many years, based on the technology we have developed in the analysis and simulation of meteorological data since around 1990. In 2022, we have systematized services to achieve carbon neutrality including the followings and have provided the service to many customers since then: visualization of and support for reducing GHG emissions, support for adoption of and utilizing renewable energy, and construction of a data utilization platform for these efforts.
Going forward, CTC will continue to expand the service menu options to include those for human resource development and awareness-raising activities, such as provision of training content that will lead to improvements in GX literacy and skills, and so that we can contribute to corporate activities for achieving carbon neutrality.
