Launch of Figues Starter, an Asset Service Supporting SAP’s SaaS ERP Implementation

ITOCHU Techno-Solutions Corporation (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Tatsushi Shingu, President and CEO; hereinafter CTC) is launching Figues Starter, an asset service to support implementation of SAP S/4HANA® Cloud Public Edition for manufacturers considering or advancing its adoption. This service provides documentation such as business process flows for each process (scope item), implementation guides, and configuration templates, all developed by CTC based on our SAP S/4HANA® Cloud Public Edition, implementation experience and expertise. It offers end-to-end support along every step of customers’ journey for smooth implementation.

SAP S/4HANA® Cloud Public Edition is a cloud ERP that enables global standardization of business processes, covering a wide range of operational areas in manufacturing such as Bill of Materials (BOM), production planning, inventory management, purchasing, sales, and accounting. However, implementing SAP S/4HANA® Cloud Public Edition, requires understanding SAP's Fit-to-Standard approach and implementation framework (SAP Activate). Its technical guidelines and deliverables are primarily available in English, leading to implementation delays as a key challenge.

Figues Starter leverages our extensive implementation experience and expertise to provide Japanese-language documentation based on SAP Activate best practices. CTC has selected 156 items specifically tailored to the manufacturing industry from the scope items offered by SAP, and has prepared over 800 related documents for each of these items.

The documents are positioned as templates that support the entire implementation process. CTC’s engineers customize them to align with each company’s specific business operations, ensuring both speed and quality in implementation by supporting and collaborating closely with customers throughout each phase of their implementation project.

Examples of CTC’s Support Services (aligned with each phase of SAP Activate)

Discover (Preparation) Phase

  • Organize business requirements specific to the manufacturing industry and provide a Business Process Definition Document with explanations in Japanese (Example scope items: Discrete Manufacturing, Inventory Management)

Explorer (Requirement Identification) Phase

  • Conduct a Fit-to-Standard workshop to compare standard functionalities of SAP ERP with the customer’s business operations and processes. Provide a Workshop Summary (listing additional requirements and functional enhancements) based on gaps identified between them.

Realize (Implementation) Phase

  • Create a Japanese-language Solution Configuration Document describing system settings (including definitions of the project scope to finalize the set of functions to be implemented).
  • Develop Test Scripts tailored to manufacturing operations and support the creation of user testing and training strategies and scenarios.

CTC will continue to contribute to business operation standardization and rapid cloud migration with expansion of business-specific templates and scope items through our SAP S/4HANA® Cloud Public Edition implementation support services.
