Launch of Wiz, a Cloud-based Security Solution Enabling Visualization of Misconfigurations and Excessive Permissions in Cloud Environments

ITOCHU Techno-Solutions Corporation (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Tatsushi Shingu, President and CEO; hereinafter CTC) will begin offering Wiz, the cloud security platform from Wiz Cloud Japan K.K. (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Tadashi Yamanaka, President). Wiz enables the visualization of security risks such as misconfigurations, excessive permissions, and vulnerabilities in cloud environments without requiring dedicated software installation, allowing for the implementation of highly accurate security measures in a short timeframe. Furthermore, starting this September, CTC will also launch Managed CNAPP, a service comprehensively supporting the deployment and operation of security measures for cloud environments. We will offer Wiz and Managed CNAPP primarily to companies advancing their use of cloud services and aim to achieve combined sales of 2 billion yen over the next three years.

As enterprises accelerate the migration of their systems to the cloud and adopt multi-cloud environments, system complexity continues to grow. In addition, more departments and projects are independently adopting cloud services, making it increasingly difficult for security teams to gain a comprehensive view of company-wide usage. As a result, enterprises are exposed to serious security risks including information breaches caused by configuration errors, and vulnerabilities or cyberattacks that are difficult to counter with conventional defenses.

Wiz is a cloud-based security solution called a CNAPP (Cloud-Native Application Protection Platform) that centrally protects cloud environment configurations, applications, identities, and data. By being connected to various cloud environments via API, Wiz eliminates the need to install dedicated software on IaaS, PaaS, or container environments. This allows organizations to visualize risks quickly with minimal impact on their systems. The solution detects errors in configurations such as settings in access permissions, open ports, and data encryption, and prioritizes risks through comprehensive assessment. Comprising three core functions, Wiz Cloud, Wiz Code, and Wiz Defend, it provides comprehensive security throughout the entire lifecycle of cloud environments, from design and implementation to operation.

CTC's Managed CNAPP, our managed security service to be launched in September 2025, reduces the operational burden of security management in multi-cloud environments. In addition to providing design and implementation support during the initial deployment of Wiz, the service offers ongoing post-deployment operational assistance, including operational support, alert detection, and reporting on response status. This service was developed by leveraging CTC's extensive expertise in multi-cloud operations. Going forward, CTC will continue to expand the Managed CNAPP service menu options, aiming to realize automation from risk detection to response and enhance integration with other services, so that we can ultimately provide more advanced and robust security operations support for customers advancing their cloud utilization.
