ITOCHU Techno-Solutions Corporation
TRUSTDOCK Inc.
ITOCHU Techno-Solutions Corporation (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Tatsushi Shingu, President and CEO; hereinafter CTC) has added an online identity verification function utilizing Individual Number Cards or My Number Cards (hereinafter My Number Cards) to C-NOAH*1, our suite of applications, system platforms, and AI services for financial institutions. This functionality leverages TRUSTDOCK, an online identity verification service based on the Japanese Public Key Infrastructure (JPKI), from TRUSTDOCK Inc. (headquartered in Chuo-ku, Tokyo; Takahiro Chiba, CEO).
In recent years, more and more financial institutions have adopted processes known as eKYC (electronic Know Your Customer), which securely and seamlessly verify identities online with the expansion of non-face-to-face channels. Among these, the JPKI, which utilizes information from electronic certificates stored on the IC chip of My Number Cards, guarantees high reliability and security. It is gaining attention as an identity verification method compliant with the Act on Prevention of Transfer of Criminal Proceeds. This approach also contributes to faster procedures, improved customer satisfaction, and enhanced operational efficiency.
The newly added feature enables C-NOAH credit card screening app users to complete identity verification entirely online via smartphone or PC using applicants’ My Number Card information. Conventionally, this verification required in-person visits or mail-in procedures. This significantly shortens the process from application to screening completion, enhancing card user convenience and improving operational efficiency of financial institutions. Furthermore, the identity verification service based on the JPKI can be offered as a standalone feature of C-NOAH. This allows financial institutions to quickly launch eKYC-based services in a cloud environment that meets the stringent security standards for the financial industry, without the need to build new systems or set up dedicated infrastructures.
TRUSTDOCK is an eKYC service that performs highly accurate and reliable identity verification online and in real time by utilizing the public personal authentication information embedded in My Number Card. Provided as a Software Development Kit (SDK), it can be easily integrated with user companies’ existing applications and systems.
CTC has newly developed a comprehensive set of eKYC functions, including a function to securely receive applicants’ personal information stored in their My Number Card, an authentication feature to verify that the application originates from a legitimate financial institution, and a mechanism to seamlessly share necessary information with financial institutions after identity verification is approved.
CTC will continue to enhance the functionality of C-NOAH, supporting advanced data analysis and personalized service delivery by combining accumulated customer data with AI services—based on the explicit consent of My Number Card holders. These efforts aim to further advance and streamline operations of financial institutions so that we can also contribute to improving experiences of their customers across non-face-to-face channels.
