ITOCHU Techno-Solutions Corporation (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Tatsushi Shingu, President and CEO; hereinafter CTC) has signed a reseller agreement with Illumio Inc. (headquartered in California, USA; Andrew Rubin, CEO & Founder; hereinafter Illumio), a provider of zero trust security solutions, and will begin offering the Illumio Platform. The Illumio Platform is a microsegmentation security solution that visualizes communications for each PC and server, blocking unauthorized communications to prevent the spread of damage caused by cyberattacks. We will offer the solution mainly to industries requiring stricter security standards, such as finance, healthcare, public sector, and manufacturing, aiming for 20 orders within the first year.
In recent years, cyberattacks have become increasingly sophisticated. A growing number of attackers gain unauthorized access to corporate networks, then repeatedly explore the networks and take control of a privileged account to abuse the legitimate privileges granted to the user, ultimately gaining access to critical information. To counter such threats, microsegmentation—a strategy that virtually divides networks into granular units such as PCs, servers, and applications, and blocks unnecessary communication paths—is considered an effective approach to prevent the spread of damage. However, in hybrid environments where cloud and on-premise resources coexist, designing and maintaining segmentation policies*1 that both ensure necessary communications and enhance security requires advanced expertise.
Illumio Segmentation, a component of the Illumio Platform, is a solution enabling micro-segmentation by providing real-time visualization and control of IT assets such as PCs and servers, along with their communications. It displays the direction, frequency, protocol, and port information of communications between IT assets on a visual map in real time, allowing users to intuitively identify high-risk communications. Additionally, segmentation policies can be easily designed and applied by simply dragging and dropping the target systems on the map. By specifying and controlling detailed communication targets and conditions, users can restrict attacker movement, and minimize the spread of potential damage.
Furthermore, Illumio Insights, to be launched for cloud environments, analyzes communications in the cloud using Illumio's proprietary AI security graph technology, enabling AI to automatically detect high-risk communications. Detected communications can be instantly isolated and contained with one click on the dashboard. Early detection and response to threatening communications prevent damage from escalating.
