Sep 02, 2025 ITOCHU Techno-Solutions Corporation
ITOCHU Techno-Solutions Corporation (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Tatsushi Shingu, President and CEO; hereinafter CTC) will launch CUVIC CP+, an IT platform where both containers*1 and virtual machines coexist. As the first phase of this service, CTC builds test environments similar to customers' operational environments and provides them as a cloud-based service for testing modernization strategies. Customers can start the testing quickly without preparing execution environments such as containers. Pricing starts at ¥750,000 per month (excluding tax). We aim to achieve ¥2 billion in sales collectively from this service and the second phase service of providing production environments, to be launched by the end of this fiscal year, over the next three years.
In recent years, as the speed and flexibility of application development and operations have become increasingly critical, cloud-native transformation with container technologies to optimize enterprise applications for the cloud, has accelerated. Additionally, a hosted private cloud, a private cloud hosted by a third-party provider like data centers in Japan, is also gaining attention since it enables efficient resource utilization, while ensuring data protection, security, and compliance with privacy laws and regulations and governance.
The new service, as the first offering of the CUVIC CP+, provides a private cloud environment where both containers and virtual machines can be used on the same IT platform, enabling users to test their modernization strategies. By delivering an environment similar to customers’ operational setup via cloud services, there is no need for preparation of IT infrastructure components such as hardware or middleware. This allows them to quickly start testing of application behavior and container management in the new environment. Furthermore, by creating management and operation scenarios for containers and virtual machines that simulate actual application deployment, customers can more easily assess the effectiveness of integrated operations and identify technical challenges. This approach supports a more practical and lower-risk path toward phased system modernization and infrastructure integration.
On a hosted private cloud environment with robustness equivalent to an on-premises setup, this service enables next-generation system operations powered by AI. Through early detection and prediction of potential failures, it supports the stable operation of systems that handle highly confidential data. Additionally, optional support services for system migration are available.
CTC developed this service by leveraging over a decade of experience in operating hosted private cloud environments, as well as our expertise in building IT platforms, such as Red Hat OpenShift, as part of our cloud-native technology support service, C-Native. Going forward, we will continue to expand our service offerings to ensure a smooth transition to cloud-native environments for customers. This includes providing production environments that support small-scale launches and offering migration assistance from virtual machines to containers.
We have received the following comment for this press release.
