Launch of Figues Owl to Deliver Visibility into Cloud ERP Operations

ITOCHU Techno-Solutions Corporation (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Tatsushi Shingu, President and CEO; hereinafter CTC) will launch Figues Owl, a cloud-native observability solution that centrally monitors and visualizes system usage across SAP Cloud ERP. Figues Owl is released as a new offering under CTC’s proprietary service brand Figues^*1. By integrating advanced observability functionalities with SAP ERP application lifecycle management capabilities, the solution enables early detection of incidents and rapid responses. We will offer the solution mainly to enterprises facing challenges in operating cloud-based ERP systems, aiming to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.

In response to the end of mainstream support for SAP’s on-premises ERP system (SAP ECC 6.0) in 2027, many enterprises are accelerating their migration to SAP Cloud ERP. While cloud environments allow for use of diverse system configurations and applications, they require monitoring of the operational status of each system individually, increasing need for solutions to reduce the burden on operations teams and streamline operations.

Figues Owl integrates SAP Cloud ALM with New Relic, a SaaS-based observability platform from New Relic, Inc., to deliver comprehensive monitoring and visualization for cloud ERP environments. SAP Cloud ALM is SAP’s application lifecycle management tool that provides comprehensive implementation and operational capabilities, helping improve operational efficiency. New Relic, on the other hand, provides real-time, holistic visibility across the entire system—including applications and infrastructure connected to SAP—by serving as a platform to collect and analyze information on CPU and memory utilization, events, logs, and traces.

By combining these capabilities, system administrators can centrally monitor system status, traces, incident handling, and resource utilization. This enables faster identification of root causes during incidents and reduces recovery time. For example, in complex system environments that combine multi-cloud and on-premises systems, administrators can identify which API triggered an incident alert across systems. Time-series visualization of memory utilization also allows users to optimize resource allocation for container services, contributing to cost reduction. In addition, New Relic retains logs for up to seven years, which can be used for audit and compliance requirements. There is no need to separately build or operate a dedicated log retention infrastructure, simplifying operations and management.

CTC will construct an observability platform optimized for SAP Cloud ERP (Public Cloud) by leveraging New Relic, which is certified as SAP Certified Solution^*2, marking the first offering of such solutions in Japan. The solution also supports integration with AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud, as well as custom application development on SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP)^*3, providing end-to-end support for operational challenges. Customers can flexibly select service options including deployment in their own environments and operations by CTC in our environment (managed services). Across complex environments that include on-premises, SAP BTP, and non-SAP clouds, Figues Owl delivers four key values for more sophisticated cloud ERP operations: reduced operational burden, faster incident response, cost optimization, and audit readiness.
