Provision of "CTC Attack Surface Management Service" to Mitsui Fudosan

Strengthening security of IT assets vulnerable to cyberattacks and reducing burden of security operations

Jun 28, 2024 ITOCHU Techno-Solutions Corporation

ITOCHU Techno-Solutions Corporation (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Tatsushi Shingu, President and CEO; hereinafter "CTC" ) provided "CTC Attack Surface Management Service ( "CTC-ASM" )" , a service that enhances the security of IT assets vulnerable to cyberattacks and reduces the burden of security operations, to Mitsui Fudosan Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Chuo-ku, Tokyo; Takashi Ueda, President and Chief Executive Officer (Representative); hereinafter "Mitsui Fudosan" ).

By quickly assessing the urgency of new vulnerability information, CTC-ASM enhances the security of IT assets and reduces the operational burden of information collection, analysis, and impact assessment.

Mitsui Fudosan had the company and the Mitsui Fudosan Group companies adopt and start using the service in April 2024. The service allows Mitsui Fudosan to continuously and quickly identify IT assets requiring security remediation efforts, for which the company expects to save approximately 600 hours of work per year.

Mitsui Fudosan has spent a great deal of time and effort on collecting, investigating, and analyzing vulnerability information and identifying IT assets vulnerable to threats as countermeasures against increasing cyberattacks every year. On the other hand, its security human resource was limited, and thus the company was considering adoption of an effective system and services to improve the efficiency of security operations, eliminate dependence on limited numbers of expert employees, and expand its observatory network for vulnerability information.

CTC-ASM is a service that continuously detects Internet-facing IT assets from an attacker's perspective, assesses risks including new threats and vulnerability information, and reports the areas that need to be remediated and their details. The service combines "Attack Surface Intelligence" from Recorded Future, Inc. (headquartered in the US), which detects and assesses risks to IT assets, and CTC's "Threat Intelligence Lab (TIL)" , which collects and analyzes threat and vulnerability information. CTC-ASM collects information on the latest threats and vulnerabilities that could be exploited by attackers, including zero-day information in and outside Japan, observed cyberattack information, and existence of cyberattack exploit codes, and assesses their risks. CTC's engineers analyze the assessment results to identify IT assets vulnerable to cyberattacks, allowing service users to prioritize security measures for the risky assets before they are exploited by attackers. Mitsui Fudosan has been able to strengthen the security of its IT assets, reduce the burden of security operations, eliminate dependence on limited numbers of expert employees, and expand its observatory network for threat and vulnerability information.

CTC will continue to contribute to Mitsui Fudosan by enhancing security to further stabilize its system operations and improve the efficiency of its system.
