The CTC Group carries out positive social contribution activities across a broad range of areas. The areas of its activities are wide-ranging and centered on material issues. They are aimed at building a prosperous society leveraging personnel, technology and waza (unique skillset).

Support for ITOCHU Techno-Solutions Future Foundation

The CTC Group supports the ITOCHU Techno-Solutions Future Foundation in its public interest activities. It established this foundation in October 1, 2019 as part of its efforts to develop next-generation personnel supporting information technologies and to serve society through business. On March 1, 2021, the foundation received public interest corporation authorization from the Cabinet Office.
The Group conducts activities supporting the children and young people that will play significant roles in the future through the ITOCHU Techno-Solutions Future Foundation.

Support for Kamiyama Marugoto College of Design, Engineering and Entrepreneurship

As a scholarship partner, The CTC Group participates in a project with Kamiyama Marugoto College of Design, Engineering and Entrepreneurship, a private five-year technology college that opened in Kamiyama-cho in Tokushima Prefecture in April 2023.

Children’s Technology Challenge IT workshop class

The CTC Group has been sponsoring an IT workshop titled "Children's Technology Challenge IT workshop class" since fiscal 2015 to offer the next generation of leaders its main business a chance to encounter and learn about IT.
In the Children's Technology Challenge IT workshop class, includes a visiting lecture titled "Lets try! IT engineer" in which children learn to think like programmers by planning a delivery system in a town using sensor robots and maps as IT engineers.

This workshop is designed as a place to experience programming skills, and as such is informing children about how IT is used in society. At the same time, the workshop is offering them a chance to foster their imagination, ability to express themselves and ability to think logically.

Donations to WWF Japan

The CTC Group donates to the biodiversity conservation activities of WWF Japan, the Japanese arm of an international non-profit organization. (September 2024)

The CTC Group donates to biodiversity conservation and nature protection projects through the Keidanren Nature Conservation Fund.

In support of a project creating disaster-preventive forests to protect natural capital, the CTC Group dispatches some staff to tree-planting events and donates to the project.

Introducing the SPHERE digital terrestrial globe in the Kamiyacho office

The SPHERE is an interactive digital terrestrial globe that displays content using combination of data about the ground, weather, oceans, animals, plants and climate change.
It has been introduced in the Kamiyacho office to help individual employees deepen their understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the environmental impact of business by observing things on a global scale using the digital globe.

Efforts to resolve social issues

Support for the Japan Association for the World Food Programme

The CTC Group sends some employees to participate in WFP Walk the World charity events aimed at eliminating child hunger in developing countries and it donates to the association. A portion of the participation fees is appropriated to school lunches.

Support for the Guide Dog and Service Dog and Hearing Dog Association of Japan

The CTC Group donates to aid the development of helper dogs for people with disabilities such as guide dogs, hearing dogs and other service dogs. Some of its employees are puppy families who volunteer to raise puppies that will later be trained as service dogs.

The CTC Group donates food and money to accommodation facilities for children suffering from intractable diseases and their families.

Support for the Nippon Foundation

The CTC Group is a corporate partner that provides food support for the Nippon Foundation’s efforts to address child poverty.
This support is provided to "Children's 3rd Place" facilities to prevent them and their families from becoming isolated and that provide regional support to develop their ability to sustain themselves.

Support for "NIPPON IT Charity Ekiden"

The CTC Group sponsors "NIPPON IT Charity Ekiden." It is a charitable sporting event with the goal of helping unemployed people suffering from depression or social withdrawal (hikikomori). Every time the event is held, multiple employees participate as runners.

Calls for donations of used books for the future of children

The CTC Group supports the National Movement Supporting Children’s Futures, which is operated by a dedicated office under the slogan of preventing poverty from ruining children’s dreams. The Group calls for donations of used books internally on a non-regular basis in order to provide the used books to the Children’s Dreams Support Fund.

Sponsorship of the Spring Festival in Tokyo

The CTC Group sponsors the Spring Festival in Tokyo, which is a series of classical music concerts including one of Japan’s largest opera performances and orchestra concerts to celebrate the arrival of spring in Tokyo with music. The goal of the event is to popularize classical music for the realization of a fulfilling society. CTC Group employees are given opportunities to participate in the festival.

Development of a corporate culture that respects and improves each other

Employment of workers with disabilities and the creation of job satisfaction: Collaboration with CTC HINARI Corporation

Creation of a workplace environment that is friendly to diverse personnel

The CTC Group established a special subsidiary to facilitate the employment of people with disabilities in 2010. The goal of CTC HINARI Corporation is to respect the diversity of individuals and to works to create a society where they are able to shine together. It works to cultivate new job types for workers with disabilities and encourage exchanges with the Group’s personnel.

Located in the office, HINARI CAFE is operated by CTC HINARI Corporation. It provides opportunities for CTC Group employees to interact with the employees of CTC HINARI Corporation and to increase the Groupwide understanding of diversity.
In addition, the Group supports athletes from CTC HINARI Corporation that compete in the Paralympic Games and other international sporting events to increase awareness of sports for people with disabilities.

Implementation of models for connecting with social issues (e.g. connecting agriculture and welfare)

CTC HINARI Corporation carries out an agriculture-welfare linkage project (universal agriculture) mainly in collaboration with farmers and agricultural operators in Shizuoka Prefecture to contribute regionally through human support and the expansion of sales channels. This style of service contract that increases efficiency and creates jobs for people with disabilities is called the HINARI model.

Introduction of the Braille Neue universal typeface in offices

Braille Neue is a universal typeface that combines Braille for the visually impaired with printable characters for sighted people so that it can be read and understood by everyone. It has been introduced in CTC offices. The Group will create an environment that enables employees to benefit from universal design which provides them with opportunities to discover many things in their work, lives, childcare activities, while they are engaged in hobbies and at other times.

Events selling bread produced by bakers with disabilities

Events selling bread from Swan Bakery, run by Swan Co., Ltd., take place once a month at the office.
Swan Co., Ltd. strives to create jobs for people with disabilities to support their independence and enable them to participate in society and to realize a society that enables them to experience the joy and happiness of working.

Encouraging employees to take the grade 3 universal manners course and organizing workshops

The CTC Group provides employees with financial support for taking the grade 3 universal manners course, in which trainees learn about the thinking and actions for interacting with elderly people, people with disabilities and others. The Group also organizes joint workshops with local businesses.

Volunteers from the CTC Group take part in local cleanup campaigns. The goal is to develop mutual aid relationships and create a clean environment through local cleanup activities.

Programs supporting employees’ activities

Development of the volunteering leave program

The CTC Group has launched its volunteering leave program that employees can use when participating in social contribution activities. The Group has established this system to support their volunteer activities.
Example activities: welfare activities such as book readings for children and activities at elderly welfare facilities, nature and environmental conservation activities such as satoyama (village-vicinity mountain) conservation and sea and river cleanups, regional community contribution activities such as regional cleanups, life-saving activities such as marrow donation and sports support activities such as working as staff for marathon races.

The CTC Group has also launched programs specifically for volunteer activities after a natural disaster occurs. They offer special leave for disaster relief volunteer activities and financial support for these activities. They facilitate employees’ relief activities in regions afflicted by disasters in Japan. Through these efforts the Group supports its employees’ positive activities helping reconstruction in disaster-affected regions.
Example activities: Support for the reconstruction of disaster-affected regions (In hopes of aiding the reconstruction of the regions affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake, the Group supported employees’ volunteer activities in affected regions and organized a series of reconstruction support tours for employees, aiming to carry out activities supporting affected regions.)
